Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi, Chairman House of Reps Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Value on monday empower over two hundred constituents with capcity building training on
Censorship and Classification for Selected University Students and Media Literacy for Selected Youths and women in Understanding film classification.
The training which was held at resource centre Igbole was organized by National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB)
Odebunmi, a chieftain of the All progressive Congress in Oyo State while declaring the training open said the rationale behind the training is to discover and develop talents as well empowering them to be self dependent without waiting for white collar Job
The lawmaker who was represented by his Special Adviser Mr Al-maruff Ajibolu maintained that he would not relent until all the youths are self independent through various trainings that will still take place.
In his lecture titled, Capacity Building in Censorship and Classification, ED/CEO of NFVCB ,Mr Adedayo Thomas says the training is an academic knowledge based under communication course that equips the students on Plan, direct, or coordinate censorship policies and programs or produce collateral materials, such as posters, contests, coupons to create extra interest in the purchase of a product or service for an organization.
Governor TAMPAN Oyo state Mrs Rose Odika commended Hon Odebunmi for partnering with NFVCB to ensure the overwhelming success of the programme advised the trainees to abide by the professional ethics guiding the Media practice when carrying out their functions.
One of the guest speaker Mrs Binta Ayo magaji also in her lecture on media literacy and capacity building maintained that training like this offers opportunities for youth generations to understand the rudiments of theatre industry as well as helping society to grow better
