…..APC Secretariat yet to announce results days after

The primary elections into the House of Reps in Eti-Osa conducted had four candidates with Hon Jide Akinloye coming top after the votes count.

The keenly contested primary elections for the House of Representatives four candidates were Babajide Akinloye, Babajide Obanikoro, Abayomi Daramola and Femi Odubiyi. At the end of the primary election, the result collated was, 1. Babajide Akinloye – 18, 245;  2. Babajide Obanikoro – 14,803;  3. Abayomi Daramola – 13, 276;  4. Femi Odubiyi – 1, 817.

Doctor Tola Kasali, the Returning Officer from the party stated that his duty according to the guidelines of the election is to collate the results, agree with the agents on the result, give them a copy of the result while announcement of the certified true copy, signed by himself as given to the agents will be announced at the secretariat.

Elated Hon Babajide Akinloye when journalists cornered him and asked what he has to say about his victory at the primary election said, “My good people of Eti Osa, I can’t thank you enough. My fellow aspirants, the success is dedicated to you. We are all victorious because though we are many but we are one. To our various supporters, I urgeall of you to let us work together for the upliftment of our constituency and Lagos. I cannot do it alone but together we shall prevail. Finally let us shower our prayers to our dear Leader who is our vessel unto honour and to God be the glory”.

However, the party secretariat is yet to formally declare the results of the election days after. NATIONAL INSIGHT reliably gathered that the party may tinker with the results as their choice of candidate may not be the actual winner. Abass Olaitan disclosed that, “We’re hearing different rumours concerning that the party may change the winner as they intend to declare their favoured candidate for the position. I want to believe that, it is just rumour. We are waiting because Hon Jide Akinloye is our choice, he is the people’s choice.”
