Gunmen Kill Ex -Commissioner, Senior Army Officer, Policeman , Abduct Scores In Kaduna

Scores of travellers were killed many abducted on sunday  evening by gunmen along Abuja – Kaduna road

The  attack  which reportedly occurred near Gidan Busa village,  along the expressway saw a millitary officer and his daughter, a police man and a professor killed during the incident

One of the many travellers, who parked waiting for security operatives to clear the road, said the attack lasted for about an hour.

He narrated that an army officer and a policeman were among those killed by the gunmen.

“There is an army officer travelling with his orderly and daughter. The orderly escaped with gunshot but they killed the army officer and his daughter on the spot,” Haruna Isa, told Daily Nigerian.

“There is another person they killed after identifying that he was a policeman. Several other passengers were killed, while many were abducted.”

Senator Shehu Sanni , lawmaker reprsenting Kaduna Central Senatorial District  while lamented  the Killing of Professor Halima Sadiya Idris and others along Kaduna Abuja

Professor Halima Idris was former Commissioner for Education in Katsina state.

Sanni said ” The killing on the road is condemnable .Its most unfortunate and shameful. The Government; state and FG has simply failed  to adequately protect the people along that lane.”

Austin Iwar, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State, who confirmed there was an attack told Daily Post that ” All I can say is that a shooting incident was just reported to us around Kateri area, and our men responded to it immediately.”

“I am now awaiting the situation report to know the cause of the shooting incident and take appropriate measures,” he said
