Group to Hold Political Debate for National, State Assembly Candidates in Ogbomoso

As 2019 general election draws closer, Cedar for Human Welfare, a Non governmental Organization is organizing a debate for National and state Assembly candidates Ogomoso zone

According to the cordinator Oluwabukola Olatunji, the debate will start in January in Ogbomoso

Olatunji in a chat with National Insight said the rationale behind the debate for political parties candidates is to let the people have an insight into the kind of candidates they want to represent them at the National and state Assembly

He said further that ‘ political debate is good , it give rooms for healthy politics, and enhance good representation and governance at all level because its a platform for candidate to sell themselves and convince people why they are better than other candidates.

Olatunji noted that ” Virtually all the people aspiring to represent us at the National and state Assembly are qualified but we need to also engage them to know their level of preparedness for the task ahead.”

Election shouldn’t be about party and Gofldfathers alone, the personality in the race should also be examined and xtray so as not to vote a wrong person who may not be able to represent the interest of the people at the legislative chamber

Olatunji also disclosed that the arrangement is on top gear as all the stakeholders including the security agencies, society groups, political organizations and others concerned are expressing willingness to be involved.
