Ajilete First (AF), a group of young professionals in Ogbomoso has condemned what they described as sponsored attack by detractors against the Majority Leader of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin at the general meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso South Local Government on Tuesday

The coordinator of AF, Segun Olanrewaju who condemned the act while speaking with newsmen on Monday said the attack on Adedoyin who is a member representing Ogbomoso South State Constituency was unwarranted and uncalled for.

They warned against further attacks on political leaders in the state maintaining that this is capable of orchestrating crisis in the state, adding that the governor should investigate and bring to book those that are behind the attack.

“The recent onslaught on the person of Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin demands an urgent response.

“Ajilete First views with great concern the unwarranted attacks on some leaders representing the state at different levels.

“It is sad that these attacks are politically motivated hence the sponsors of these attacking dogs have a motive which is not far from the 2023 general elections.

“The group noted that the attack was not just an insult on the legislative arm of government but a callous move which may jeopardize the chance of the PDP in the state

“Adedoyin’s decision to join the faction with his teeming supporters in Ogbomoso South should be applauds and appreciated rather than the devilish and cowardice act of some unscrupulous element in the Party
“We are quite aware that those who are reaping from where they did not sow are behind the attack and they will be exposed soon.

“As concerned group, we deem it necessary to caution that continuous debasement of our leaders by sponsored agents is capable of orchestrating crisis in the state”, the group said.

They called for support for political leaders to enable them realise as well as actualise their mandate and programmes for the people which was why the people put them there.

On their part, they noted that criticisms should be constructive and not used to bring leaders down or distract them.

They said the body is not against holding leaders accountable or pulling anybody down but to allow leaders to concentrate and do their work.
