Community leaders and residents of Ona Ara local government, have commended the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, for his forward-thinking initiative in introducing electric motorcycles and solar-powered tricycles in Oyo State.
The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, lauded Chief Sanusi for fulfilling his promise, marking a significant step towards sustainable transportation.
He expressed his gratitude to Jubril Dotun Sanusi, praising him for supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s developmental plans at this challenging period, characterized by high fuel prices.
The introduction of electric buses, tricycles, and motorcycles is aimed at alleviating transportation burdens for the people of Ona Ara, Ibadanland, and Oyo State as a whole.
“Chief Sanusi’s contribution is timely and impactful, especially in light of the current economic challenges. His support for Governor Makinde’s vision is commendable, and his initiatives will greatly benefit our community,” Dr. Kolapo stated.
At the brief event, Engr Sanusi highlighted the significance of the electric bus project in addressing the transportation needs of the Ona Ara community. He emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions to reduce the community’s carbon footprint and enhance the quality of life for residents.
The event saw the presence of key dignitaries including the Vice Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government and political head of INUKAN LCDA, Hon. Windapo Oluwole; Ona Ara House Leader, Hon. Abolade Yerima; other councillors; Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Ona Ara, Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare; Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun; Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo; Hon. Isiaka Arinola; and other notable figures.
Dr. Kolapo concluded the event by reiterating his commitment to sustainable development and improved transportation infrastructure for the benefit of the people of Ona Ara. He assured residents that the local government would continue to work closely with community leaders and stakeholders to achieve these goals.
