Telecommunications company, Globacom has reviewed downwards, its International Direct Dialing (IDD) rates to over 15 countries, for the benefit of its subscribers.

In a statement in Lagos, the company said IDD rates now attract as low as N30 per minute to new and existing customers across Nigeria. According to the network, the reduced rates took effect from August 10 and cover calls to more than 15 popular international destinations. With the adjustment, calls to the United States will now cost ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35.

Furthermore, call rate to the United Kingdom has also been sliced from ₦400 to ₦350, while India drops from ₦45 to ₦40. Other countries that recorded significant reductions include China (₦75), Saudi Arabia (₦300), and Cameroon (₦700).

Similarly, call rates to neighbouring African countries have also gone down. While calls to Benin Republic will now attract ₦650 per minute, calls to Niger Republic ₦750, Ghana ₦500, and Togo ₦650. Calls to the United Arab Emirates have been reduced from ₦450 to ₦325. “Germany is now ₦550, Côte d’Ivoire ₦700, Libya ₦700, while Malawi has dropped from ₦1,200 to ₦1,100.

Globacom explained that the revised rates are part of a broader strategy to provide more value for new and existing customers and encourage them to make Glo their preferred network for their international calls due to the affordability and competitiveness of the new rates.

The telecommunications giant further assured its subscribers of the rollout of new IDD bundles that will guarantee even more attractive deals for frequent international callers.
