Akin and Funke Laosun Foundation, a nongovernmental Organization under the leadership of Engineer Akin Laosun has empowered another set of widows and widowers in Ibadan

The empowerment programme which was held at Jericho in Ibadan saw 15 people getting foodstuff, cash and other materials

Akin Laosun the Action Alliance AA Gubernatorial Candidate in the last election in Oyo state said the empowerment is not for political gains but just a means of assisting the less privilege out of poverty  

“We have been doing this for over 20 years in Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, United Kingdom and other part of the world, the essence is just to assist the less privileged in the society and make them happy

Laosun said further that “Though politic is for me is a call to serve and make the society better, I joined because I realize that we need people who are more honest and responsible to dominate the political sphere,  we have been voting different people for over 20 years , nothing has really changed, our education is not being run the way it should only for the politicians to take their children abroad leaving the masses to suffered”

The guber candidate who lost to Engineer Seyin Makinde of Peoples Democratic Party said “Seyi Makinde has already been implementing some of the idea I have in my manifestos and I want you to please continue to pray for him”

He however urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the cash and other materials given to them

Also the country manager of the foundation, Mrs Jadesola Ajibola in her brief remark said the organization is organizing training for the youths and urged the widows and widowers to use the money given to them to boost their business.
