
The Zonal Commanding Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zone RS12, Bauchi, Assistant Corps Marshal Leye Adegboyega, has commended the Borno Sector Command for its outstanding operational performance, urging personnel to sustain the Corps’ core values of discipline, professionalism and accountability.
Adegboyega gave the commendation during his Second Quarter 2026 supervisory visit to the FRSC Borno Sector Command (RS12.2) in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
The visit, conducted as part of the Corps’ management framework, was aimed at assessing operational performance, monitoring compliance with policies and directives, evaluating personnel welfare and logistics, and strengthening accountability and professionalism across Commands under Zone RS12.
Speaking during the visit, the Zonal Commanding Officer said the exercise also provided an opportunity to engage Commanding Officers, Regular Marshals, Special Marshals and other stakeholders on strategies to enhance service delivery and improve road safety operations.
Welcoming the Zonal Commander, the Borno State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Usman A. Muhammad, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to advancing the FRSC’s mandate through effective traffic management, operational efficiency and public safety initiatives.
As part of the inspection, Adegboyega assessed operational facilities and logistics within the Command, stressing the need for proper maintenance, efficient deployment of resources and prudent management of government assets.
A review of operational records for the second quarter and first half of 2026 ranked the Borno Sector Command as the best-performing Sector Command among the three Commands in Zone RS12.
The assessment also placed RS12.21 Biu as the highest-performing Unit Command among the Zone’s 20 Unit Commands, while RS12.25 Kwaya Kusar, RS12.28 Mafa, RS12.24 Benishek and RS12.22 Dikwa also emerged among the top-performing Units.
The Zonal Commanding Officer praised the Sector Command for maintaining high operational standards despite prevailing challenges and acknowledged innovative initiatives introduced by the Sector Commander to improve operational visibility, efficiency and productivity.
He also appreciated the support of stakeholders and development partners whose contributions have strengthened the Command’s operational capacity, with special recognition for the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, for his continued commitment to road safety initiatives.
To further promote road safety awareness, Adegboyega announced plans for the launch of Safety Chronicles, a magazine that will document the Corps’ achievements, promote road safety education, highlight stakeholder partnerships and showcase the positive image of the FRSC.
He urged personnel of the Borno Sector Command to contribute to the successful publication of the maiden edition scheduled for July 2026.
The visit ended with a renewed commitment to institutional accountability, operational excellence, transparency and continuous capacity development, as the Corps reaffirmed its resolve to strengthen internal systems and improve service delivery towards creating a safer motoring environment for all road users.
