
The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commissioned its newly completed Command Mosque in Osogbo as part of efforts to promote the spiritual well-being of its officers and marshals.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Friday, October 31, 2025, marked the completion of a long-abandoned project that was revived and completed within the first five months of the current Sector Commander, Corps Commander Leye AdegBoyega’s administration.
The mosque project was made possible through the support of friends, partners, and stakeholders of the Command, notably Alhaji (Hon.) Kolapo Kazeem Akinleye, Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Osun State, who was represented at the event by Dr. (Engr.) Sadiq Taoheed Olohunde, his Personal Assistant.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Alhaji Nojeem Akintola, mni, Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Osun State; Alhaji Muritala Fakunle, Administrative Secretary, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board; Mallam Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, also from the Board; Hon. Sheriff O.F. Dewoye, SSA to the Office of the Governor; Hon. Isaac Sanmi, SA to the Chief of Staff; and Alhaji Moshood Owoade, Manager, Heritage Hotels Ltd., Osogbo.
Also present were DCC Mutalib A. Adelana, DCC PRS, RS11HQ, Osogbo; management and principal officers of the Sector Command; and executives of the Special Marshals, represented by SM John Ayotunde Fadare and SM Oluwaremilekun Oyedokun.
In his welcome address, Corps Commander AdegBoyega traced the history of the project and expressed gratitude to God for the grace to see it completed. He commended all who contributed to the project, particularly the Chief of Staff and other donors, and prayed for divine blessings upon them.
Representing the Chief of Staff, Dr. Olohunde commended the FRSC Osun Command for its commitment to spiritual development and urged the Muslim personnel to make good use of the mosque while extending fellowship to members of the surrounding community.
The commissioning was officiated by the Chief Imam of the Osun State House of Assembly Mosque, Alhaji (Barr.) Adebisi Abdulfatai Afolabi, and the Chief Imam of Abere Central Mosque, Alhaji Tohir Abdul-Ganiyu Adewale, who both lauded the initiative and prayed for the continued success of the Command.
Among other supporters of the project were HRM Oba Adekunle Abdul-Waheed Babatunde, the Elende of Eko-Ende; Alhaji (Hon.) Salaam Hamid Adewale, SA to the Governor on Transportation and CEO of Nabahamid Driving School; Alhaji Kareem Alabere; Dhulqarnai Tolani Owoo; Armstrong Paints Ltd., Osogbo; Alhaji (Dr.) Adelasoye M. Oladepo; Mr. Dauda Adegoke Adejumo; and Mr. Aderibigbe Adebayo.
The FRSC noted that the commissioning of the mosque reflects its dedication to not only safety and discipline on the roads but also to the moral and spiritual growth of its personnel, reinforcing the Corps’ values of service, integrity, and community development.
