The Acting Unit Commander FRSC Oolo, CRC Femi Adeyemo pjsc led the staff of RS11.312 Oolo in a road safety awareness at Iluju, Oriire LGA on Wednesday, 21 May 2025. The Awareness Campaign is described by the FRSC team as a form of synergy on road safety areas with community leaders and other road users, using Oyo – Ogbomoso road.
The Executives and members of Park Management System, Ogbomoso were engaged in the campaign, with the drivers specifically oriented on the dangers attached to Route Violation, as one of the notable causes of Road Traffic Crashes along Ogbomoso – Oyo road; hence highlighting the importance of the campaign, as a wake up call following the directives of the FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed mni, FCA, FCTA, CPTA and the Operational fallouts from FRSC Zone 11 Osogbo, towards road traffic crash reduction.
The Vehicle drivers were further admonished to always drive their vehicles with a valid Driver’s license. ‘A crash free environment is possible with compliance to road safety tips and obeying of traffic rules and regulations’ Adeyemo stated.
According to the Unit Commander, ‘Eid – il – Kabir’ special patrol operation will soon kick off, and there is expectation in increase of vehicular movement along Oyo – Ogbomoso road. The PMS members were urged by FRSC Oolo team to ensure that peaceful and safe celebration is in their minds, while equally assuring them of the Command’s commitment to effective service delivery in matters of Road Safety administration and traffic management across it’s jurisdiction.
While appreciating FRSC Oyo Sector Commander, CC RUK Alo for her all time support, Femi Adeyemo also disclosed that the Awareness Campaign aligns with the engagement of motoring public through purposeful and impactful public education for road users using Oyo – Ogbomoso road.
FRSC Oolo further interacted with Market Leaders at Iluju, on their roles as road safety advocates for the Market Men and Women. They were also assured by the Unit Commander on necessary areas of collaboration towards crash reduction and other road safety related matters.
As a form of synergy with sister agencies, the Unit Commander also paid a courtesy visit to the DPO, Ikoyi Ile, Orire LGA to address road safety related issues especially for residents in the Community. He further iterated the importance of meeting the Local Government Chairman, Orire LGA, as he emphasized the Corps interest on stakeholder’s collaboration, as rightly highlighted in FRSC Corporate Strategic Goal for the year 2025.
Femi Adeyemo described the Road Safety Awareness at Oriire as an extension of the ‘line up programs for public enlightenment’ which had been earlier launched at Ajawa Town.
