FRSC Confirms 13 Dead in Nasarawa Accident

Federal road safty corps (FRSC) Nasarawa state has confirmed 13 persons killed in a motor accident on the Abuja_Makurdu federal highway in Nasarawa_Eggon local government area of the state.

Ismaila Maiwada_kugu, FRSC sector Commander in Nasarawa state confirm the accident in lafia,the state capital,on Sunday.

According to him, the incident took place at Agwan Chiyawa community in Nasarawa_Eggon local government area of the state on Sunday at 1:40pm, stating that a truck,one ‘hummer’ bus and a black car were involved in the ghastly accident which claimed 13 persons.

“Thirteen people died ; ten adult and three children. Three vehicles were involved. A car, a bus belonging to Benue links transport company and a truck. What happen was that the truck fell on the bus and crushed the vehicle with passengers trapped inside.

“Despite the fact that the road is narrow, bumpy and not very good, drivers refuse to take extra precaution.The drivers are not patient. That’s the problem we have on the highway”, he said.

He, however, revealed that 11 others survived with varying degrees if injury and were immediately rushed to Nasarawa_Eggon General hospital by the FRSC officials for prompt medical attention.

“The dead bodies have also been evacuated from the scene of the accident and the posited in the mortuary”, he added.

Maiwada_kugu, however,appealed to drivers to always be cautious, especially when on high speed or about to overtake other vehicles ahead of them so as to prevent unfortunate incidents.
