Former Efon Alaaye LG Chairman, Chief Idowu Ezekiel Akinyele, Dies at 90

Chief Idowu Ezekiel Akinyele, the Ologbon Nla of Efon Alaaye,  Ekiti State has passed away at the age of 90.He died in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Chief Akinyele a respected bursar, politician, and community leader  served as  Peoples Democratic Party PDP chairman in the local government

He  also served as the former Chairman of Efon Local Government and also as the bursar of All Saints Teachers College, Usi-Ekiti, where he was widely regarded as a disciplinarian who instilled moral values and discipline in the students under his watch.

Until his passing, Chief Akinyele was a revered figure in Efon Alaaye, where he was loved for his leadership and commitment to community development.

He is survived by children, including Otunba Lekan Akinyele, Chairman/CEO of Lakebuke Oil and Gas Group, and other family members.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
