Ahead of the constitutionally approved December annual elections of the Ogbomoso Students’ Union (FOGSU) National Council, the Oyo State Youth Parliament (ogbomoso caucus) in conjunction with the youth wing of Ogbomoso Parapo Worldwide and Office of the Special assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Students matter, Hon. Victor Olojede have moved to resolve the lingering crisis so as to forestall possible reoccurrence and to restore peace and unity back to the heretofore united Union.

In a letter dated 18th November, 2022 with reference number _OYSYPOGBO02_, the Youth Parliament through the Office of Speaker, Oyo State Youth Parliament – Rt. Hon. Fawole Israel has invited the two warring factions to meet with the Hon. Faozy Gazaly of Ibadan Southwest -led conflict resolutions committee of the House.

The Union had broken into two factions when some aggrieved member perceived foul play in the constitution of electoral Committee and thereupon went ahead to reconstitute another sets of electoral committee which eventually produced Comrades Ola-prayer and Phypo (nicknames) as the parallel executives.

“On this note, we are hereby inviting you to a conflict resolutions meeting at the Oyo State Ministry of Educations Board Room on 22nd of November, 2022 where you will meet with the Ogbomoso caucus members of the Oyo State Youth Parliament and our Committee on conflict resolutions with the supervision of the Honourable SA to Oyo State Governor on Students’ Matter and the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Oyo State Youth Parliament.”

“You may prefer to come along with relevant excos to support your own version of the naratives. Our believe is that we will be able to come in and get rid of every pending issues and the Union will be back with realigned forces to make a whole.” as contained in the letter jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the caucus, Hons. Isaac Adebayo(Ogbomoso North) and Oyebamiji(Surulere/Ogooluwa).

Hon. Joshua Ojo J’ICON (Oriire), the PRO of the caucus said, we’ve sent an invite to the President of the two factions for a meeting slated for next Tuesday and they both had acknowledged, should any of the factions failed to show up at the meeting, it may mean contempt of the proceedings and the defaulter is potentially the wrong faction.” he continued.

“I was once a National Secretary of this heretofore formidable association during the 2015/16 regime of Big-Bash as President. Some past student leaders that I knows well had been fingered as the culprit behind the division, and also are benefiting in the pathetic division for their own political advantages, our candid advice to them is to take caution as we are engaging the Department of State Security (DSS) to make our work easier.” He concluded.
