Fear Grips Apete Residents Over Murder of Poly Student

Residents of Apete Area of Ibadan are living in fear over rumour of planned reprisal attack by cultists following the murdered of Ahmed Olalekan a member of Student Forum ,Apete by suspected cultists.

The deceased an ND holders of the institution was killed on Monday and his group Student Forum on Tuesday registered their displeasure over the killing with a protest .

During the protest which lasted for about three hours,academic and commercial activities at the main campus of the Polythecnic Ibadan was paralysed. Also the communitied around were also affected.

It was the intervention of Police and other security agencies that rescue the situation from turning into a bloody clash.

Olalekan gory’s picture which is being circulated on socia media reveals that he was slaughtered by his assailants.

Commercial and social activities in the area was almost at zero level as most of the shops including filling stations closes earlier than usual closing period

There was no traffic congestion as it use to be around 8pm when our reporter visited the ancient community.

The few motorcycle riders that operated charges extra money and people were left with no option than to abide it could be hard to get alternatives means of getting to their abode.

Mr Adeyi Samuel, a resident who spoke with our reporter said people are afraid of reprisal attack by the cultists ,” many have to close earlier today because nobody can predict what wil. happened , those cult guys are terrible set of people.”

Police patrol vehicles were sighted in some strategic locations in the community.
