The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, has been described as a Progressive workaholic lawmaker whose tireless efforts at breaking limits to bringing the dividends of democracy to the door steps of his constituents has now been a reference point in the nation political periscope thereby reaffirming the Pace Setting status of Oyo State.
The one time Federal House Of Representatives member, Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, who has been representing Oyo North in the Red Chamber since 2015 has proved to the good people of the district, Oyo State and Nigeria at large what legislation is all about through the numerous bills he has sponsored and co sponsored.
His activeness on the floor of the house and his invaluable contributions on oversight functions is second to non in the history of the district and Oyo State at large.
When the former Commissioner For Local Government And Chieftaincy Matters in Oyo State, promised to work with relevant stakholders to ensure that Oke Ogun, an agrarian community , with ten (10) local governments, blessed with very fertile land and large land mass, gets a Federal University of Agriculture And Technology, to boost farming activities and nosedive the development of the region, it was generally believed to be an impossible task that can never see the light of the day.
Many gladiators, organised bodies and sponsored Media personalities from and within the district said it was a scam and a political statement aimed at luring the good people of the zone to vote for him during the electionnerring campaign that brought him back for the second term.
The former Special Adviser to Late Sen Abiola Ajimobi on Water Resources, a resilient, dedicated and result oriented lawmaker with vast experience in national politics remained focus in his quest to making the establishment of the institution in the zone a reality.
The bill after passing through relevant stages has now been granted for public hearing which was held yesterday in Abuja. Any bill that gets to such stage is a good as a done deal.
The question begging for answers are ; has Oke Ogun had it so good in terms of representation since inception of democracy in 1999 even when two (2) of their children mann the zone at the Upper Chamber ?
Records have it and It is not an understatement that the combinations of all the achievements of the Senators who have represented the zone from 1999 to 2015 (two from Oke Ogun and one from Ogbomoso) cannot match the first four years achievements of Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari.
The “Omoluabi” meaning “born with good vitues” as he is fondly called is worthy of his personality. A Senator who will never promise what he will not do but will ensure he keeps to any promise that he makes by the grace of God. He has always followed every bit of his promise with actions.
Dignatories from all works of life within and outside the state and indigenes of Oke Ogun, professors, educationists, youth, royal fathers, politicians, journalists, gathered in Abuja at the public hearing.

With the support of the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan , members of the House of Representatives in the zone and other impactful contributors, it is hoped the the siting of the institution in the zone has come to state.
After the very strenous activities yesterday which the senator is expected to rest to cool off the stress, Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, being the Chairman Senate Committee on Land Transport, on behalf of the committee, today Tuesday 21st July, 2020, laid the report of the Committee on the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRA) Act N129 LFN 2004 (Repeal & Re-enactment) Bill 2020(SB.311) before the Senate but the parliament scheduled its consideration to another legislative day.
It is high time we shun politics of bitterness and join hands with this goal getter Senator to bring more growth and development to the district for the benefit of all.
