The Ogbomoso country home of Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola , former Premier of Western Region is being converted into resource centre for academic research by the family
Yemi Adedokun, the coordinator Samuel Ladoke Akintola Foundation told journalists at a press conference and facility tour of the building held in Ogbomoso
According to him, the children of the late premier have resolved to restructure the facilities for public use
He disclosed that Dr Mrs Bimbo Akintola and other members of the family are committed to ensure that the resource centre is of international standard with e library, recreation centre and others
‘ Already we are working on the library with over 5000 books found ib Baba’s library, work has also commenced in fixing the olympic size swimming pool and other things that will bring real picture of what the late sage have in mind when building the house’
He also disclosed that the family is also planning to restore the statue of the late sage at the parliamentary road and the motion he moved for independence will be fixed by its side
While unveiling the the programme of activities lined up for the 52 remembrance activities slated for January 11 2018,Adedokun said notable personalities including the governors of the south west, traditional rulers and captains of industry are expected to grace the event
