The late People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Hon. Temilola Segun Adibi, has been described as a bridge builder who played a crucial role in connecting the past and present during his lifetime.
Pastor Victor Oyelowo of First Baptist Church, Okelerin, Ogbomoso, made this remark during his sermon at the burial ceremony of the late community leader. He emphasized Adibi’s dedication to service, both in governance and within the church, noting that his contributions would be remembered for years to come.
Hon. Temilola Adibi, a former member of the House of Representatives, also served as Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government and was the Director-General of the Oyo State Signage and Advertising Agency. He passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 62.
Speaking at the burial service, Pastor Oyelowo praised the deceased for his immense contributions to the church and society. “He contributed immensely to the growth of the church. He served as a link between the past and the present and did his very best to ensure things were done right,” the cleric said.
The pastor further described Adibi as a leader who left a significant mark at the local, state, and federal levels. “He made his mark, he did his best. He was a community leader who served diligently in every capacity he found himself,” he added.
Addressing the family, he urged the children of the deceased to take pride in their father’s impactful life and find solace in the legacy he left behind. He also encouraged them to remain strong and carry on his values of service and dedication.
Taking his sermon from 1 Samuel 17 and the theme Living Beyond the Common Course, Pastor Oyelowo reminded attendees that God has greater plans for their lives beyond what they can imagine. “There is much more to one’s life than we ever know. What God has in store for you is mind-blowing. God has great plans for your life that you are yet to imagine,” he said.
The burial was attended by family members, political associates, community leaders, and well-wishers, who gathered to pay their last respects to a man they described as a selfless leader and a devoted public servant.
