Former Chairman Crown Football Club, Alhaji Bello Noah, donated 236 sport swears to Okelerin Baptist Day Primary School, Ogbomosho to mark the 38th Inter-House Sports Competition.
Bello who’s a former student of the school last year donated trophies to the school, and pledged to donate 50 percent of the School sportswear, but he kitted all the 236 pupils in the School as part of his efforts in giving back to the School that made him.
Alubarika as the stocky built philanthropist is fondly called by his admirers while speaking at the 38th Inter-House-Sports competition of the School on Thursday evening, lamented the level of abandonment of school sports, which he said is affecting the total development of sports in the country.
He commended the school for giving him the opportunity to contribute his own quota to its development, promising to do more for the School.
Bello who attended the School between 1978-1983 session, said that education is incomplete without physical, mental and social development.
He advised the pupils who are looking up to him as a role model to be discipline and urged the students to take their education serious.
The school Head Mistress, Mrs. Deborah Araromi, expressed gratitude to Bello for having a rethink towards the schools that led him to stardom and implore well meaning Ogbomosho indigenes to emulate him, as government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities of sports development.
However, Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT (Ogbomosho North Local Government) Taiwo Adewole, was highly delighted and concluded that Bello’s gesture has not only made the staff and pupils happy but made Okelerin Baptist Basic School’s 2017 Inter-House Sports Competition the best among other schools.
