The Oyo State House of Assembly has charged the state government to ensure total compliance of law against people living with disabilities.

Hon. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, representing Ogbomoso North state constituency made the call while presenting motion on “Improving the Quality of Lives of Person Living Disability Through Provision of Gainful Employment and Job Opportunities.”

The lawmaker stated that the Oyo State Persons Living Disability Law was enacted in 2018 to address any form of discrimination against people living with disabilities.

She urged the state government to ensure that public and private organizations comply with law guiding the interest of people living with disabilities.

Hon. Oladeji also suggested the establishment of agency for the elimination of decriminalization against people living with disabilities.

Hon. Seyi Adisa, representing Afijio state constituency, while commending the mover of the motion, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for the government of all inclusive he embarked upon particularly as regard people living with disabilities.
