A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party Chief Akinwole Akinwale, has registered his displeasure in a supposed peaceful protest which led to the eventual death of a young man yesterday in Ogbomoso.
Akinwole who made his reaction available to the pressmen after receiving the news in Abuja described the incident as unfortunate and urge the people of Ogbomoso to remain calm to avoid any further action that could add more to what had already happened.
He said, “I am so sad that what ought to be a peaceful protest yesterday as expected turned bloody to the point that the life of a promising young man in the process was lost”
“I commiserate with the deceased family and so urge members of our security operatives especially the Nigerian Police force to please in the subsequent handling of such situations be more civil so that things like things do not again arise”
“I want to equally beg our youths that it is not until they become violent that success can be achieved especially where matters of importance are being addressed. We should learn to embrace peace in airing our views so that the appropriate authority can know what to do”
“It is my prayer that God almighty will give the family the deceased left behind the fortitude to bear the loss and be with them in every area”
