End Hardship Now, Protesters Tell Tinubu

Hundreds of Nigerian youth converged on the popular Mokola Roundabouts on Monday morning amid heavy security presence to protests against economy crisis and inflation rocking Nigeria

The end hunger protest which lasted few hours was monitored by security personnel to prevent breakdown of law and order and looting miscreants who may want to take the advantage of the situation

The protesters carry placards with various inscriptions such as “End Hardship, Do you want to reduce our population”, End Nigeria Hardship” , “is this the Renew Hope you promise”, Give us stable economy among others
We want peace; No more promise and fail; Bring back our real Nigeria; End food scarcity.

The inscriptions on the banners and placards borders on the rising cost of living, escalating prices of food items, hunger in the country, economic hardship and urgent need for the government to take pragmatic steps and make food become surplus in the country.

They also chanted of ‘Ebi n pawa’ (We are hungry) rented the atmosphere of Mokola Roundabouts as the youth staged the protest.

The side attractions include selling of sachet water for N50 per one while three sachets of water went for N100.

The protest is still ongoing as the protesters have left Mokola Roundabouts for the frontage of the University of Ibadan at Agbowo. The combined security team of the police, Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), as well as Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
