Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, has disclosed the reasons for celebrating Eledumare festival, saying the festival has truly transformed the image of the group positively.
He said the group remains the only organization that has been celebrating the annual Fiesta.
Speaking at briefing to flag off the 2020 edition of the annual Eledumare festival in Ikeja, Lagos, the Yoruba generalisimo, who is also the chief promoter of Olokun Festival Foundation (OFF) reiterated the need to promote the core values of the Yoruba race.
Aare Onakakanfo also reiterated the need to declare a two-day public holiday annually for the celebration of Eledumare Festival across all the
Southwest states.
He urged all Yoruba sons and daughters to remain committed to projecting everything that will make the race one of the leading among all races.
“Our intention as a group is to provide a veritable platform for the promotion of Yoruba culture, tradition and heritage, using those festivals to reach out to the people and strengthen their beliefs in Yoruba culture and tradition.
Eledumare Festival is one of the festivals we celebrate annually as part of the festivals in the annual calendar of the foundation.
Therefore,the reason for this press briefing is to unveil the series of programmes scheduled for the 2020 edition of Eledumare Festival and to also make a case for the celebration of Eledumare Festival across the southwest.”.
