The Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Amb. Wale Ojo-Lanre, has been honoured with the prestigious Tourism Promoter Award of the Year by the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Western Zone.
Ojo-Lanre, in a public statement, described the recognition as a humbling testament to the modest contributions of the state towards repositioning tourism as a tool for sustainable development under the visionary leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
He, however, expressed regret over his inability to attend the 3rd Annual NANTA Western Zone Symposium, which holds on September 25, 2025, citing pressing state duties in Ekiti.
“It pains me greatly to miss this glorious occasion where distinguished stakeholders of our industry will converge. I am, however, committed to receiving this award at a later date in Ekiti, where we shall also celebrate the enduring partnership between NANTA and the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development,” he said.
While extending warm wishes for a successful symposium, Ojo-Lanre reaffirmed his unflinching support for NANTA in its role of advancing tourism practice and professionalism in Nigeria.
