Barrister Ojo-Lanre made this commendation while presenting the award to the Governor and introducing two newly appointed tourism officials from Ekiti State, Mr. Peculiar Ekiran, the Special Assistant on Tourism Development, and Mrs. Dolapo Ogunleye, a Tourism Officer of the Bureau of Tourism Development, who were recently inducted into the prestigious Club 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria.

Ekiti State emerged the First Position among the five states out of the 36 states in Nigeria at the recently held 10th Wonders of Nigeria Tourism Expo, Special Edition, organized by ATQ Magazine and held at the National Museum, Onikan, Lagos.

Barrister Ojo-Lanre pointed out that the award was the result of the Governor’s efforts in 2023, not 2024. “I resumed in November 2023, and before this time, the state has sequestered Tourism from the Ministry, hosted World Tourism Day, hosted the AGM of the National Association of Tour Operators in Nigeria, hosted the African Tourism Climate Action Forum (ATCAF), appointed a Director-General for the Bureau of Tourism Development, and actively participated in the Canada Embassy Bazaar, all within the year 2023,” Thus the Award was predicated majorly on the initiatives of Governor Oyebanji and the State’s ‘ he said.

He also tasked the Bureau with some specific objectives to further enhance the state’s tourism potential.
