The Ekiti State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party PDP has expressed its utmost shock and disappointment over the outcome of the election.

In an emergency meeting of the state working committee of the party held on 22nd of June,2022 to review the outcome of the June 18 ,2022 gubernatorial election, the party regard the loss of the election as our collective loss

They also commended the party flagbearer Otunba Bisi Kolawole for his sportsmanship.

According to a communique issued at the end of the emergency meeting, the party admits that the result of the election was below expectation, noted some shortcomings, and state that many lessons have been learnt.

EKITI STATE CHAPTER OF THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY

A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING TO REVIEW THE OUTCOME OF THE LAST GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION

The Ekiti State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party,( PDP) in an emergency meeting held on 22nd of June,2022 to review the outcome of the June 18 ,2022 gubernatorial election hereby come with the following communique:

1. That the State Working Committee received with utmost shock and disappointment the outcome of the election.
2. That the SWC stand by our candidate and regard the loss of the election as our collective loss. We also praise him for his sportsmanship.

3.That the SWC however wishes to commend all party leaders and members for their loyalty and commitment to the party .

4.The SWC encourage members to keep hope alive , because the future of the party is very bright and directed all Party chairmen to also convene meetings in their Local Governments in order to restore confidence of members in the party.

5.The party admits that the result of the election was below expectation, noted some shortcomings, and state that many lessons have been learnt .

6 .That the leaders and members of the party should be focused on the unification of the party for winning future elections .

7. The party implored the National Working Committee of the party to give all necessary support and stand by the State chapter of the party in its effort to ensure the party wins all other elections ahead.

8.That members are encouraged to stop internal bickering , blame passing , all forms of unfunded accusations, character assassination and the use of derogatory languages against party leaders on Social Media.

9 The SWC has set various Committees to strengthen the party through reconciliation. We hereby appeal to leaders of categories to call their followers to order.

11 .That we wish to state that the last election was marred with a lot of irregularities and the party is still consulting with our legal team to consider the next line of action.

13. The party will immediately inaugurate Legal Committee, Review Committee and Reconciliation Committee . All other Committees will be announced very soon.

12. We wish to state that those calling for dissolution of the party Executives at various levels ,especially at crucial stage of election are enemies of the party. Their aim is to cause more crisis and havoc to the fragile party.

12. That the party appreciates all our leaders like H.E. Ayodele Fayose, Senator Biodun Olujimi , our candidate,Otunba Bisi Kolawole, his dqeputy,
Barrister Kolapo Kolade, the Director General of our Campaign Organization Otunba Yinka Akerele as well as our incoming Senator, Lateef Ajijola for their doggedness.
