The new pact is coming barely a week after the state signed the Universal Basic Health Provision in Abuja.

Governor Kayode Fayemi who led Ekiti State’s delegation at the signing of the agreement in Dubai, said the relevance of data gathering and analysis in the health care sector,  will serve as a catalyst in reviving the state’s social health care schemes.

“I have always stated that our people remain our greatest resources. This partnership is perfectly placed in upholding the social investment agenda as promised to the people of Ekiti State.

“The rollout of these new digital health solutions provides us the best opportunity to deliver  world class health services, which is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals Number three: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being at all ages”, said Dr Fayemi.

Major objectives that will be met by the partnership include:

Registration of pregnancies into a state-wide pregnancy register; Increase in antenatal attendance and improvement beyond the national average;  sharing of valuable knowledge about pregnancy, child birth and Early Child Development as well as the development and rollout of an electronic health record (HER).

Mondia has a proven track record of successful integrations and rollouts of similar digital health services and will immediately begin with development and deployment.

“We are excited about partnering with Ekiti State Government and helping connect people to more digital experiences that matter most”, said Dr Amadeo Rahmann, Mondia’s CEO.

Governor Fayemi said his administration’s commitment to health care delivery informed the decision to sign on to the Universal Basic health Provision in addition to the state’s health insurance scheme.

He stated further that the state government would participate in the 2018 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Conditional Grant Scheme and would utilize the fund on intervention in Education and Health sectors
