Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has announced Suspension of ongoing by election in Ekitit State
Three were reportedly killed while other injured during the House of Assembly bye-election in Ekiti East Local Government.
The said the environment was no longe conducive for further electoral activities at the Polling Units and Collation Centre
Dr Tella Adeniran, INEC’s resident electoral Commissioner in the state in a statement explained that in spite of the Commission to give Nigeria free fair and inclusive election, some people seems not to be prepared for improved electoral processes.
Tella said in Polling Unit 7 Wars 7, three voters were shot dead while a Youth Corper, Police Woman and an INEC Staff Sustain Gunshots wounds.

election materials as well as the credibility of the process canmot be guaranteed
The state Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has decried the violence that marred the bye-election in Ekiti East Constituency 1 of the State House Assembly, and said that no one involved in the dastardly act would go unpunished
