Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, has been the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Oyebanji scored 187,057 votes to defeat its closest rival, Segun oni of the SDP, which garnered 82,211 votes, while Otunba Bisi Kolawole of the PDP, got 67,457 votes
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof Kayode Adebowale while announcing the result said ,Adebowale “Oyebanji, having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected as the governor-elect of Ekiti State”
Adebowale is the Vice Chancellor, the University of Ibadan.
Electoral observers and candidates of SDP and ADP had earlier accused the agents of the All Progressives Congress of vote buying.
