The Ashipa of Ogbomosoland, Sir Chief Adekunle Olusegun KJW, has felicitated Muslim faithful in Ogbomoso and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging residents to embrace peace, unity and cooperation for the development of the town.
In his Eid message made available to journalists on Wednesday, the respected traditional title holder congratulated Muslims for witnessing another celebration of the festival of sacrifice, urging them to uphold the virtues of love, tolerance, obedience and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Sir Chief Adekunle Olusegun also called for improved security consciousness among residents, stressing the need for collective efforts in safeguarding lives and property in Ogbomoso and its environs.
He appealed to community leaders, youths, security agencies and residents to work together by sharing useful information with relevant authorities to tackle criminal activities and maintain peace in the area.
The Ashipa equally commiserated with the families and relatives of victims of the recent attack in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the incident as painful and unfortunate.
He also offered prayers for the quick and safe release of the abducted students and teachers, expressing hope that security agencies would intensify efforts to rescue them unharmed and restore confidence in the safety of the area.
According to him, development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and security, adding that cooperation among all stakeholders remains vital to the continued growth and progress of Ogbomosoland.
The Ashipa further prayed for enduring peace, prosperity and divine blessings upon Ogbomoso, Oyo State and Nigeria as Muslims celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
