Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to uphold the virtues of faith, perseverance, and sacrifice imbibed during the holy month.
Makinde commended the Muslim faithful for their endurance and devotion throughout Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of sustaining good neighborliness, sacrificial giving, and religious harmony.
“I congratulate my brothers and sisters in Islam on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, which marks the end of Ramadan,” he said. “I particularly commend them for their perseverance, faith, and trust in Allah, as well as their commitment to good neighborliness and selflessness.”
He also urged Muslims to continue to pray for and support the government in fostering peace and development in the state.
“As an administration, we are committed to prioritizing the people’s interest and ensuring sustainable development in Oyo State. However, we can only achieve this in an atmosphere of religious harmony and tolerance,” Makinde stated.
The governor wished all Muslims a joyous celebration, saying, “Eid Mubarak to everyone.”
