Egbe Omo Ife Condemns Yoruba/Hausa Clash in Ile-Ife

The Egbe Omo Ife, Ibadan branch on Sunday condemned the last week bloody clash between the Hausa and the Yoruba people in Ile Ife which claimed many lives with property worth millions of naira destroyed.

In a statement issued at the end of its monthly meeting held at the resident of Chief Oye Agbe in Apata area of Ibadan signed the President, Chief Adegboyega Elufidiya and the PRO,Prince Jire Abimbola,Egbe Omo Ife urged that all hands must be on deck towards ensuring and sustaining peace in Ifeland.

The meeting commended the timely intervention and fatherly roles of the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in resolving the crisis.

Egbe Omo Ife,Ibadan branch in the statement emphasized that both the Hausa and the Yoruba in Ifeland should always see themselves as brother and sisters and continue to leave in peace as well as allow peace to reign.

They lauded Governor Rauf Aregbesola,all the security agencies for their prompt efforts in restoring peace.

The Egbe Omo Ife,Ibadan branch then appealed to all security agencies on ground in Ifeland especially in the troubled areas of Sabo, Lagere and others to be fair,unbiased and professional in discharging their duties of sustaining the reigning peace in Ifeland.
