The electoral victory of the People’s Democratic Party PDP at the just-concluded Edo gubernatorial election is a pointer to what would happen in the 2023 general election when Nigeria will restore a government with a human face.
A PDP chieftain, Akinwale Akinwole, made this remark while reacting to the election said, it is obvious Nigerians are tired of APC led government in the country and the only way to prove that is by voting them out at elections.
“What happened in Edo state is beyond Obaseki, it is a gradual victory against fuel hike, electricity tariff, insecurity everywhere, and serious hunger in the land, where earnings are struggling to cater for ever-mounting bills
“It is the people of Edo that rejected APC despite their huge resources, political strength, and strategies, the people revolted and prove that they were more powerful to decide for themselves and make a good choice”.
While congratulating Gov Godwin Obaseki and the PDP in Edo State, “Wolekanle as he is fondly called said he should not betray the confidence reposed in him by the people”.
In the same vein, Wolekanle also commended the efforts of Gov Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and other members of the National Campaign Committee for their immense contributions adding that they should not relent until PDP takes back the presidency and some states that have already been hijacked by the APC.
“He said, the proposed plot to unseat Gov Makinde by the APC in the state in 2023 will not only be a failed attempt but a development that will finally nail the coffin of already dead APC in the state”
“The People of Oyo state are sophisticated and wise, they won’t vote against the governor that is not only passionate but consistent also in putting smiles on their faces through policies that enhance human capital and infrastructural developments”.
“His giant strides in education, health, and agriculture sector, as well as others, are too numerous to mention”
