The Founder of Educare Trust Nigeria, Dr. Tony Marinho, has called for increased efforts to engage Nigerian youths in meaningful activities.

He made this appeal during the Legacy Partnership Event held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, organized by her 1969-73/75 classmates from Queens School, Ibadan.

Dr. Marinho, represented by Otunba Mrs. ‘Debola Osibogun, Group Independent Director of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, lauded the launch of the Ameyo Adadevoh Scholarship Scheme (AASS) as a significant step toward improving education, fostering mentorship, and providing meaningful opportunities for youths.

“This scholarship scheme is a call to action for stakeholders to enhance the educational sector, cultivate mentorship, and engage our youths in productive ventures,” he stated.

Dr. Marinho also suggested innovative ways to celebrate Dr. Adadevoh’s legacy, including the creation of teaching aid posters and storybooks for schools to educate students about her life and lessons from her heroic actions during the 2014 Ebola outbreak.

He congratulated the organizers of the event for their commitment to keeping Dr. Adadevoh’s legacy alive, emphasizing her bravery, compassion, and dedication to saving lives during the Ebola crisis.

“Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh was a Nigerian physician whose courageous actions contained the spread of Ebola in Nigeria, saving countless lives. Her commitment to patient care, medical education, and her ultimate sacrifice are an enduring source of inspiration,” he said.

“Among many fallen medical heroes, Dr. Adadevoh stands out for her exceptional professionalism, integrity, and bravery. Her decisive actions and selflessness saved lives and protected the nation from a devastating outbreak,” he concluded.

The Ameyo Adadevoh Scholarship Scheme continues to serve as a beacon of hope, inspiring future generations to emulate her values of courage, selflessness, and commitment to humanity.
