A reconciliation committee comprising seven elders of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP was today inaugurated by Oyo state governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde.
Members of the committee includes Dr Saka Balogun, Chief Mutiat Ladoja, Chief Sunday Ogunlade, Chief Olayiwola Baale, Chief Jacob Adetoro, Chief Jumoke Akinjide and the state PDP chairman Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha as members
Their duty is to look into challenges confronting the party and reconcile various aggrieved factions.
The Governor who innaugurated them at the government house implored the committee to particularly consider some members of the party whose legitimate requests and expectations had not been met as well as address various grievances and acrimony amongst party members in order to forge a united platform
Governor Makinde also noted that having spent one year in office, the people still have high expectations from his administration, adding that he was more determined to fulfill the people’s hopes and aspiration for a better Oyo state.
In his response the chairman of the committee Dr Saka Balogun said since the Governor had admitted the various agitations in the party, the committee would duly work to justify the opportunity to serve.
