The new Okanlomo Oodua, Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi has expressed his sincere gratitude to those who attended his coronation at Ile Oodua, the Palace of Ooni of Ife, as well the royal grand reception at Ilaji Resorts, Akanran, Ibadan.

He specifically thanked the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (FNSE) Arusa 1, the Oonirisa, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi (CFR) OJAJA II, the Olubadan in Council, Olubadan Chiefs, and all other traditional rulers at the event.

He appreciate Mogaji’s in Ibadanland, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Baales Monarchs, and sons and daughters of the ancient city of both Ife and Ibadanland.

He also appreciated the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, Onpetu Ijeru, Kabiyesis across the Yorubaland, Iyalode in council of Ibadanland for their roles in the installation as the Okanlomo of Oodua.

Sanusi, a philanthropist and owner of Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, Ibadan, was installed yesterday, Friday 5th December, 2025 in Ile-Ife as the Okanlomo Oodua by Ooni Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Ojaja II.

He praised Ooni and other traditional rulers for their support and presence at the event, which was a grand affair.

Sanusi also thanked the governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Ayaba Oloye Mutiat Olayinka Ladoja, Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa federal constituency, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, and other political big wigs in All Progressive Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties across Nigeria for attending the event.

Chief Dotun Sanusi also thanked Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and his group, Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa (Tommy) Chairman PMS, Oyo State, Babaloja and Iyaloja General of Oyo state, Alhaji Y.K Abass and Alhaja Sarat Aduke Konibaje respectively.

Their presence was seen as a demonstration of their commitment to the development of Ibadanland and Yorubaland.

The new Chief expressed gratitude to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), traditionalists, and other traditional institutions across Nigeria for their impact and presence at the installation ceremony. Their support was highly appreciated.

A statement by the Coordinator of Ibadan Compound Peace Initiatives (ICPI), Mogaji Dr. Nurudeen Akinade , who also doubled as the Chairman Okanlomo Oodua coronation Planning Committee said it is worthy to thank those in attendance, noting that their presence and support are highly appreciated.

The statement said the installation of Engineer Dotun Sanusi as the Okanlomo of Oodua is a significant event in the history of Ibadanland and Yorubaland, highlighting the importance of traditional institutions and their role in promoting peace and unity.

The event brought together prominent sons and daughters of Ibadanland and Yorubaland, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

He used the occasion to called for unity among the people of Ibadanland and Yorubaland, emphasizing the need for them to come together to promote the development of the region.

He urged everyone to support the Okanlomo of Oodua, Engineer Dotun Sanusi, in his new role.

He assured the Okanlomo of Oodua, Engineer Dotun Sanusi, of their support and commitment to his success in his new role.
