Party chairmen welcoming Hon Ogunwuyi into APC

Hon Ogunwuyi, and party leaders after a meeting in Ogbomoso

Local government and ward chairmen of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogbomoso North, South and  Oriire Federal Constituency  on Saturday received  the defecting Labour Party Lawmaker in Oyo state Hon Ogunwuyi Segun into the party

Hon Ogunwuyi, the only National Assembly member who emerged on the platform of Labour  party had on  Thursday at the National Assembly dumped his former party for APC and was received by leaders of the party at the National Assembly

While welcoming him into APC in Ogbomoso, the party leaders urge him to abide by the rules and regulation guiding the party for harmonious relationship and advancement of the society

Ogbomoso North APC chairman, Mr. Solomon Ayanlola described the defection as a “massive move” that would enhance the victory of the party in the state.

Also, the Ogbomoso South APC Chairman, Chief M.A Oguntoye, who received the lawmaker and his followers, assured that there would be no discrimination against any of them.

“I am sure that you and your people are credible and responsible politicians and not political jobbers looking for food and relevance and I am sure that your coming will add value to the party in your constituency and oyo state large

Hon Ogunwuyi in his response said “  the decision to lead his teeming supporters and political associates to the party is buoyed by the need to work together with the people for the progress of his constituency

He said the consideration for APC  was because of the stability  and focus of the party which is  changing Nigeria for better.

He however assured them of his cooperation and contributions to the development of the party and the state at large

Ogunwuyi had on Friday directed his supporters in Labour party to go and register with the APC  following the development

In a chat with  our reporter, the lawmaker said “ before I took the decision , I consulted widely and  consider many factors  with my people but you know politics is about people and when you are in politics you are not alone, political decision is not taken alone.
