Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has attributed his company’s return to Ogun State to Governor Dapo Abiodun’s investor-friendly policies and vision.

During a visit to the governor in Abeokuta, Dangote highlighted Ogun’s status as Nigeria’s manufacturing hub and praised the state’s support for private-sector investments.

He announced the reconstruction of the Itori cement plant, which was previously demolished, and the addition of two new production lines with a 6 million metric tons annual capacity. Combined with the existing 12 million metric tons cement plant at Ibeshe, Ogun State is set to become the largest cement producer in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dangote also revealed plans to revive the Olokola Free Trade Zone (OKFTZ) with the construction of Nigeria’s largest port, aiming to boost trade and logistics. He reaffirmed Dangote Group’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in cement, fertilizer, and petroleum products.
