31 new case of Corona virus was yesterday recorded in Ibadan Oyo state capital

This brings the total number of cases to 107 in the state and 5621 in Nigeria

Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control NCDC in a data obtained from verified their tweeter handle @ncdc dislcosed that 176 new cases was recorded yesterday 16th May 2020

According to NCDC, the breakdown of todays report is Lagos 95, Oyo 31, FCT, 11, Niger 8, Borno 9, Jigawa 6, Kaduna 4, Anambra 3, Edo 2, Rivers 2, Nassarawa 2, Bauchi, Benue 1 and Zamfara 1

Oyo state Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde in a statement said thirty of the cases are members of staff of an organisation based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area while the other one is from Egbeda local Govt area

Makinde said The organisation has been shut down and will be decontaminated as soon as possibl

“While urging members of the public to remain calm as the situation is under control, Makinde said Intensified contact tracing has already commenced, we will give an update on any additional measures that may need to be taken.”

” We advise the following categories of people who have not already done so, to register with the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 | 08095863000 | 08078288999 | 08078288800, for the ongoing drive-through/walk-through testing at Adamasingba Stadium:

a) People who believe they could have come in contact with a COVID-19 case in Oyo State;

b) People with COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath;

c) People with respiratory disease symptoms;

d) Healthcare workers who have been in contact with the high-risk groups, above.
