Commuters Lament Deplorable Condition of Old Ogomoso- Oyo Road

Commuters plying old ogbomoso – Oyo road have appealed to the Federal government to hasten completion of the express road to avoid unecessaey traffic gridlock

They also call for urgent repair the damaged portion of the old road withouth further delay

Although some part of the damaged portion are being fixed but a lot of work need to be done to make the road motorable for commutters and other road users

The journey from Oyo -Ogbomoso should not be less than 45-mins but now it takes more than 3 hours at time to get through because od traffic ocassioned by bad road” said Akanji a bus drivers

Akanji lamented that, we have lost a great number of people on this route to avoidable accidents , armed robber attack and others, we cannot continue like this , out government should do something fast”

It would be recalled that some groups includinh religion organization and indegenious socio-cultural group in ogbomoso organizes peaceful protest and special prayers on the subject in 2018 during which they gave FG August 30 2018 as the ultimatum.

Construction work is ongoing on the both the old road and the new express road but the work is at a slow phase.
