COEASU FCE (Special) Oyo Inaugurates New Executive, Pledges Dedication to Members’ Welfare

The newly elected Executive Council of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, has been inaugurated, with a renewed commitment to transparency, integrity, and the welfare of members.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Tuesday, 11th November, 2025, followed the union’s successful election conducted on Thursday, 18th September, 2025. The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Dr. A. T. Adedji, formally introduced the new executives to the Congress.

The Zonal Coordinator of COEASU, Comrade Dr. Oni Oluwakemi, alongside other principal officers of the zone, conducted the inauguration. The event was graced by the Deputy Provost of the college and other notable members of the institution’s management.

The new executive is led by Comrade Adeleke Wasiu Adewale as Chairman, with other members including Comrade Dr. Adebayo Oluremi Adebowale – Vice Chairman
Comrade Dr. Onojah Monday David – General Secretary, Comrade Adeyemi Christianah Oluwakemi – Assistant General Secretary, Comrade Ajao Ibrahim Sulaiman – Treasurer,Comrade Adeleye James Olasunkanmi – Organizing Secretary, Comrade Fatai Kafayat Olawumi – Investment Officer ,Comrade Bakare Musbau Tope – Publicity Secretary.

In his inaugural address, Comrade Adeleke W. A. expressed gratitude to members for their trust and pledged servant leadership focused on advancing members’ welfare, promoting integrity, and building a stronger union.

He outlined key priorities for the new administration, including the renovation and upgrading of the COEASU Secretariat, organization of conferences and workshops, recognition for Chief Lecturers, celebration of retirees, payment of salary arrears for new staff, and seamless promotion processes for members.

“Leadership is about impact, service, and legacy,” he said. “Together, we will build a stronger, united, and progressive COEASU, safeguarding welfare, advancing development, and upholding dignity.”

Comrade Adeleke assured members that the new team would work collectively to achieve excellence and leave a lasting legacy for the union.
