A former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has said that the distribution of thousands of bags of rice to members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party across the State is to further strengthen the unity already started in the Party.
The former Chairman, Senate Committee on appropriation stated this while receiving some party members from the opposing Adagunodo faction at the State Secretariat of PDP, Ogo-Oluwa, Gbongan /Ibadan road, Osogbo on Thursday.
The Secretariat, which was agog with Party Faithfuls was filled to the brim with the bags of rice in readiness for distribution for the forthcoming Christmas celebration in the presence of both Faforiji and Adagunodo leaders and members.
The PDP leader, Dr. Omisore which stated that the rice distribution is meant for all PDP members in Osun and not for any faction maintained that only PDP government can eradicate the current prevailing sufferings on the people of Osun State.
According to him, next in line to receive his gestures are the State Pensioners, unpaid civil servants and other unprivileged citizens.
The Apesin Oodua of the source charged members to be more committed to working for PDP and remain focussed to rescue the State from the shackles of APC-led government of hunger.
Also Hon. Tunde Solomon Oyetunde who spoke for all members formerly belonging to Adagunodo group, reiterated the determination of Osun PDP members to support Otunba Omisore in his endeavours to salvage the people from the sinking ship of APC government in Osun state, without any further confusion, lies and propaganda.
Meanwhile, Otunba Omisore emphasised his confidence in the unity of PDP that will be solidified completely in January 2018 with the conclusion of Local and State Congresses.
According to him, the unification of the Party is sure, he thereby insisted that the Christmas gifts be distributed to all PDP members across every nook and cranny of each ward in Osun state.
