The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has petitioned the Oyo State Police Command over deposed Mogaji Olawale Oladoja.

CCII said the petition became necessary to avert bridge of public peace in Ibadanland that might be cause by activities of the deposed Mogaji who still go around parading himself as Ibadan Chief.

Recall that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Sen Dr Lekan Balogun. Alli Okunmade II on Saturday 9th March, 2024 sacked Mogaji Olawale Oladoja as Mogaji Akinsola of Oopo Labiran Family Compound, Ibadan over direspectful to Olubadan stool and by extension, Olubadan-in-Council.

The monarch directed Akinsola’s family to present another person to fill the vacant position with immediate effect

Mogaji Oladoja’s removal came barely six months after suffering short suspension as Mogaji by the Olubadan Advisory Council.

CCII in a letter titled COMPLAINT ABOUT THE CONDUCT OF ONE MR. OLAWALE OLADOJA WHICH IS LIKELY TO CAUSE BREACH OF PUBLIC which was dated 14th March 2024 stated that as an organization, CCII don’t want any act that can cause any breach of public peace in Ibadanland, hence the need for the petition.

The letter jointly signed by CCII President-General, Barr. Chief Niyi Ajewole and CCII 2nd Assistant Secretary-General, Sulemon Raufu urged the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Hamzat Adebola to prevailed on Oladoja and ordered him stop parading himself as a Mogaji in lbadanland.

The letter reads “An incident occurred on Saturday, 2 March, 2024 in which Mr. Olawale Oladoja addressed a press conference with press releases across the media which desecrated the exalted office of the Olubadan of lbadanland and Olubadan in Council through disrespectful statements.

He equally made a frivolous allegations against a member of Olubadan in Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Hamidu Ajibade , alleging him of been a party to illegal mining activities among others

“In the said press release he condemned the Olubadan for conferring chieftaincy title on a notable Ibadan son in a manner capable of causing discord.

“He also made frivolous allegations against the Central Council of Ibadan
Indigenes (CCII).

“Consequently, a meeting of Olubadan Advisory Council was convened on Saturday, 9 March, 2024 to which Mr. Olawale Oladoja was invited but refused to show up without any excuse.

“At the meeting which also had representative of CCII in attendance, the issue of the offending press conference of Mr. Oladoja was discussed, At the end of the meeting, the conduct of Mr. Oladoja was viewed as insubordination to the Office of the Olubadan and Olubadan-in-Council, capable of causing disaffection among various stakeholders in lbadanland, and baseless and disgraceful indictment of CCII.

“In effect, the Olubadan Advisory Council took a decision and pronounced Mogaji Oladoja removed as Mogaji. It was also pronounced that Akinsola Family where Mr. Oladoja hails from should present another candidate for installation as the family’s new
Mogaji.

“The Olubadan and Olubadan-in-Council being the Supreme authority on
lbadanland Chieftaincy matter took the decision in the capacity.

“The CP Sir, in his usual character as an incorrigible personality, when it comes to dishonourable behaviours, he arrogantly called another press conference to reject his removal, with inflammable and vulgar statements against the Olubadan and Olubadan-
in-Council making threats that to cquse trouble in the city if he is not reinstated.

“Sir, by way of further intimacy, as you have known, the Central Council of lbadan Indigenes is the Umbrella body of all clubs, societies and associations of all Ibadan indigenes worldwide.

“It is a Social Cultural and Non-political Organization Apart from prinarily seeing to the development and progress of the City of lbadan, it is also jealously concerned with:-

“Seeing that the office of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of lbadanland is
protected, respected and insulated from any form of internal and external
indignity.

“Making all efforts that peace and tranquility reign in all the nooks and crannies of the ancient city.

“However, it is pertinent to bring to your notice, information about any happening
capable of funsettling the pence of the city, so that proactive measures can be taken to the effect in the bud.

“This is a complaint about a nan called Olawale Oladoja, who was once the Mogaji of Akinsola Compound in Oopo Labiran Area, of lbadan North East Local Government Government Area, Moniya,
Area, Ibadan.

“His activities are based in Akinyele Local where he has been notoriously involved in land grabbing and racketeering. Your office
must be familiar with his case.

“At a point, when the reports of his nefarious activities became overwhelming and intolerable to the office of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of lbadanland and the Olubadan-in-Council, he was derobed and suspended but re-instated as a result of appeal by him and his promise to be of good conduct.”
