The need for capacity building and planning for self development topped discussions at the Oke Ogun Youth Summit 2017 held in Iseyin, Oyo State on Saturday, July 15,2017.
The summit, which was held at Iseyin city hall had in attendance the Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shiitu, the Senator representing Oyo North senatorial district, Dr Abdulfatai  Buhari, former Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, Professor Adeolu Akande, the immediate-past Chairman of OYSTROMA, Engineer Remi Olaniyan, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba AbdulGaniyy Adekunle Ologunebi (Ajinese 1), the Onjo of Okeho,  Oba Rafiu Mustapha Osuolale (Adeitan 111)  and many other royal fathers.
 The Royal father of the day Aseyin of Iseyin Oba Adekunle in his welcome adress called on the youth to be courageous and determine in their pursuit in life and works towards the development of their region.
According to him, the youth “should not be timid and allow anybody to underestimate your value and push you aside. You are destined to be great and the greatness in you can be achieved with your determination”.
While speaking on the political development in the state, the Aseyin who supported the yearning for an indigene of Oke Ogun to be governor in 2019 said the youths should be politically conscious and make sure responsible leaders are elected in 2019.
The Chairman Planning organization Bola Olalere, in his welcome address said the essence of the summit is to encourage the youth on self esteem and self sufficiency.
Other key speakers at the event, including the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shiitu, Sen. Abdulfatai  Buhari, Professor Adeolu Akande,  and Engineer Olaniyan  urged the youths to be proactive and determined to make the nation great.
The event also feature lectures on Agric business,  Education, ICT and Entreprenuer by professionals and academician
