President Muhammadu Buhari has signed a bill into law changing the Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) to Nigerian Correctional Service.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, briefed State House correspondents on Wednesday.

He said that the Non-Custodial Service was intended to be a place of reformation and that the person sentenced under this will not stay in custody but will have remediation.

The President, he said, has also signed Federal Universities of Agriculture (Amendment No.2) Act, 2019.
