BOVAS donates N16m building to OYSCATECH

The  Chairman, BOVAS and Company Limited, Architect Bamidele Samson n Wednesday  handed over a block of 6 classrooms worth N16m, 87,000 ( Sixteen million  and eighty seven thousand Naira) to the management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, OYSCATECH ),

The donation was part of the company’s social corporate responsibility which is aimed at advancing the course education in the College.

Presenting the one block of six classrooms which has eight toilets and other facilities as well as the capacity to accommodate over 300 students. Architect Samson who represented his wife Mrs. Victoria Samson, the managing director of BOVAS and company Limited disclosed that the organization believes in being socially responsible because it pays to touch lives

“Architect Samson also promised that the organization will furnish the classrooms with chairs and tables.

“ In his address, the Provost of the College, Professor Gbemiga Adewale expressed joy said that , BOVAS and company Limited fulfilled its promise to the institution within one year’

He maintained that the donation would assist the college to add more programmes to already existing programmes of the institution.

The Provost, appreciated the chairman and the managing Director, Architect and Mrs Samson for their kind gesture and for additional donation of chairs and tables to the institution.

He therefore, used the opportunity to appeal to well meaning Nigerians and the sons and daughters Ibarapaland to donate infrastructural facilities like lecture halls, staff offices etc. to the college.

Professor Adewale hinted that it is obvious that government alone cannot cater for the education sector, hence the need for corporate organizations and philanthropists to partner with the college through donation of lecture halls, staff offices, experimental pen and others to the college.

In his address at the occasion, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela commended the donor for the corporate social giving and for contributing towards educational advancement in Oyo state.

Olowofela hinted that as soon as government completes the auditing of tertiary institutions in the state, more money would be injected into the system.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the chairman, building committee who doubles as the College Librarian, Dr. Olatunji Olaojo thanked the management of the College for the confidence reposed in the committee to handle the project construction on behalf of the donor. He also charged well meaning Nigerians to take a cue from BOVAS by donating towards the development of education in the college.

Thereafter, a community service award was presented to the Managing Director of BOVAS and company Limited, Mrs Victoria Samson in recognition of her love for humanity and donation towards the advancement of education in the country .

The official commissioning was attended by the traditional rulers in Ibarapa central local government, governing council members, management, political and community leader,staff and students of the College.
