Bodija Market Violent Protest: Police Beef up Security , to Arraign Arrested Suspects in Court After Investigation

Police Authority in Oyo state has said all the the suspects arrested in connection with the violent protest in Bodija Market will be arraigned in court after completion investigation.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Command’s public Relatio Officer Adekunle Ajisebutu where he stated that security has been beefed up in the market and its vicinity as well as other parts of the state.

” Oyo State Police Command is not averse to decision by the government to reopen the Bodija market which was closed down following recent violent clash between some lawless butchers and security agents, a situation which resulted in avoidable loss of lives and wanton destruction of individual and government property.”

” We are aware of the sanctity of human life hence we will not abdicate our responsibility of protecting lives and property of law abiding traders and other citizens in the state. ”
