The family of the late Brigadier-General Benjamin Adekunle (popularly known as the ‘Black Scorpion ‘ ) has announce a one week remembrance programme to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the death of the late General.

According to a statement signed by Benjamin Onigbinde on behalf of the family, the programme, organised by the children and extended family of the late Brigadier-General will commence during the 2nd week of September starting with a private civil religious service at Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi Lagos and a Memorial Lecture in the late General’s hometown Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Charitable events will hold simultaneously in both Ogbomoso and the nation’s capital Abuja.
During the commemorative week, the late General’s family will be announcing details of a Memorial Foundation to be established in honour of the late General.
Two distinguished retired Generals- Major- General Lawrence Ngubane of the same origin as the late General’s mother, and the current Director-General of the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency Brigadier-General Buba Marwa are reported to have been approached by the Adekunle family to lead the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Further details of late Benjamin Adekunle’s 10th Anniversary Remembrance Programme will be released in due course in the month of August.
