The eldest daughter of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Reverend Tola Oyediran, has died.

Oyediran, who was billed to mark her 80th birthday on December 1, passed away in her sleep at age 79 on Friday
Until her death, she served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Newspapers of Nigeria, the publishers of Nigerian Tribune.
Revd Oyediran was married to Professor A. B. O. O. Oyediran, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan.
Her death leaves Dr Olatokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu as the only surviving child of the Awolowo dynasty
