The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the party is committed to instituting a people-friendly and God-fearing government that will rebuild public trust and restore good governance across Nigeria.
Aregbesola former governor of osun state stated this during the party’s visit to the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency on Monday, where residents of Ijesaland—particularly Ijebu-Jesa—trooped out in large numbers to welcome the ADC delegation.
Quoting the scripture, he emphasized: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin (greed) is a reproach to any people,” stressing that the ADC intends to uphold integrity and moral leadership at all levels. He described this as the party’s “solemn pledge to the nation.”
Despite being a workday, the impressive turnout of party members, supporters, and loyalists signaled strong grassroots acceptance of the ADC’s message. Aregbesola encouraged them to intensify efforts in strengthening the party and commit their physical and spiritual energy to returning Osun State and Nigeria to the path of genuine progress.
He assured the people that, if given the opportunity, the ADC would restore a People Friendly Government (PFG) environment—one that prioritises the poor, eliminates hunger, promotes functional education, restores confidence in leadership, and entrenches good governance.
Aregbesola also expressed deep appreciation to the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba (Engr.) Moses Olufemi Agunloye Abikehin-Ekun, for his warm reception and prayers for the success of the party’s renewed political direction.
The visit marks another step in the ADC’s mobilisation efforts across Osun State as it positions itself as a credible alternative in the nation’s political landscape.
